Cassper Nyovest’s tweet hours before AKA’s death got Mzansi talking.

The death of one of our most renowned rappers in the game in a drive-by gunshot on Florida Road in Durban casts yet another ominous shadow over the South African music business. Born and raised in Cape Town, Kiernan “AKA” Forbes has left behind his family, daughter and  his fellow rapper lover Nadia Nakai and “the game” when he was 35 years old. AKA’s untimely passing shocked Mzansi, and there is much debate surrounding it.

Before AKA passed away on February 10 in the morning hours, his fellow rapper Cassper Nyovest tweeted a message that went viral on social media.

Taking to Twitter, Cassper wrote:

All things work together for good.

Mzansi responded to his tweet in various ways, and as a result, he is currently trending on Twitter.

Here are some comments from Twitter:

It’s a good tweet, but please delete it. It is not gonna age well, considering what just happened. Stay strong, King. Its gonna be a bumpy ride.

Twitters Algorithm,😂😂 we all just had to see this tweet after we heard the news about AKA.

Cassper Nyovest is the most bullied musician. They blamed him for Ricky Rick death, Dj Sumbody death and now AKA dies, he trends again. Leave Cassper Nyovest alone.

Lord please protect @casspernyovest at all times. I’m also asking you to be his best friend and guide him at all times. Amen

AKA and Cassper Nyovest beef

It is well known that Cassper Nyovest and AKA were not friends and have been at odds for as long as anyone can remember. And being caught up in the conflict between the two is never a good thing.

The controversy started with a now-deleted tweet from 2014 in which Cassper Nyovest claimed his song Doc Shebeleza was the most popular on iTunes rather than Zippyshare as a dig at AKA. AKA clapped back by agreeing with him because his song Congratulate was also at the time among the top 100 songs on iTunes. Since then, they had differing viewpoints.
