At her husband’s funeral, Mampintsha’s widow Babes Wodumo appeared to be in good spirits as she sang and danced to a Big Nuz song.

Earlier, several videos that were making the rounds 4on social media gave the impression that a verbal altercation between Mampintsha’s mother’s family in KwaMashu and the family of Babes Wodumo would tarnish his funeral.

Babes Wodumo was praised by many for being a courageous mother who is standing up for her son despite the loss of her spouse.

Family members from both sides were reportedly arguing outside the mortuary as the unnecessary drama played out. However, others who believed this behavior was unnecessary criticised it.

They would support Babes Wodumo throughout, according to Mampintsha’s friend Dj Tira, who spoke during Mandla Maphumulo’s memorial at the eThekwini Community Church. He predicted that her career would receive a lot of attention.

The provincial government of Kwa-Zulu Natal declared that they will cover half of the musician’s funeral expenses. However, since he was not a government representative, this caused critics to wonder why they were acting in this way.

“Can someone please explain to me why government feels the need to pay half of Mamphintsha’s funeral? Are victims of flooding still not living in city halls? I’m just not understanding,” some said.

The late musician was one of the three members of the Kwa-Zulu Natal musical trio Big Nuz. Today, there is only one surviving member.
