A groomsman who was recruited by a friend on groomsman duties has narrated how he was sacked from a church where his friend’s wedding took place because he was wearing earrings.
According to the man, he was asked by the pastor who coordinated the ceremony to either take of his earrings and partake in the ceremony or leave the church with his earrings.
The man revealed that he saw no reason why he could not be allowed to partake in the wedding because of his earrings but since he didn’t want to create a scene at his friend’s wedding ceremony, he silently exited the church auditorium.
He was only able to partake in the reception but never performed his rightful duties as the groomsman of the groom because of the pastor who claims that wearing of earrings as a man is against the Christian beliefs.
Narrating his experience, he wrote; At a Baptist church in Isolo, groomsman duties and the reverend just told me I’m not allowed to wear earrings in church. I calmly left the church, guess it’ll be the reception for me. Shout out to Nigerian christianity, and hope they have fine dining restaurants in hell
