Since joining the Soweto giants more than five years ago in January 2017 from Chippa United, the 28-year-old has found the back of the net on 17 occasions – and Orlando Pirates have never ended up losers in those matches (W12, D4, L0).

Lorch scored his first goal of the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season in a 4-1 win against Maritzburg United at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday to keep Orlando Pirates’ hopes of a CAF Champions League spot next season alive.
Orlando Pirates next face an away clash against Royal AM on Friday, 27 May before finishing their campaign against SuperSport United next Monday, 30 May – also away from home.
Both those matches will kick off at 19:30.
Orlando Pirates attacker Thembinkosi Lorch has played in the majority of the side’s PSL games in 2020/2021, making 18 appearances overall and accumulating 1,258 minutes of playing time. He has started in 16 of these appearances across their 30 fixtures and entered as a substitute on two occasions.

The last league game that Lorch played came on June 5 for Orlando Pirates against TTM; a meeting that he played 72 minutes in during a 0-0 stalemate. The 27-year-old has assisted four PSL goals for his team-mates this campaign, which ranks him tied ninth overall in this category in 2020/2021. Lorch has also scored one goal. He has been shown a yellow card twice.
His opening goal of the campaign came in the 2-1 victory against Kaizer Chiefs on January 30.
Lorch played 22 PSL games last season for Orlando Pirates, scored one goal and provided three assists.
Before joining Orlando Pirates in January 2017, Lorch made 13 league appearances in total at Chippa United, scoring three goals.
