South Africa has lost a pioneer in the music industry, a legend, Tshepo Tshola. Legendary songwriter and musician Tshepo Tshola has passed on. It’s understood Tshola had been hospitalized after contracting covid.
Condolence message for the late icon streamed in social media and Mzansi was shocked at the death of the legend. Born in Lesotho, Tshepo grew up in a musical family with both his parents. Despite being a permanent resident of South Africa, Tshepo’s still very much attached to his home country. “I’m forever commuting between South Africa and Lesotho,” he says. “I have a house there and my two sons, Kamogelo (30) and Katlego (23), who are both singers, still live there.”
Tshepo Tshola is an award winning jazz musician whose debut album “A New Dawn” received great critical acclaim and showcases the album as a statement of humbleness.

He has been in the music industry for more than four decades and has dominated audiences across international stages.
Just short of a dozen tracks, the album showcases Tshola’s always compelling, utterly unique voice in dazzling form throughout as well as a vivid musical vista that transverses Gospel to subtle afro-jazz moments, traditional music-soaked material, afrobeat tracks, funk-flowing repertoire and more, all coming together in one great package. Much of the album’s wonderfully intimate and personal feel lies in Tshola stretching his creative boundaries.
