According to News24, Annelene van den Heever, an attorney for the four defendants, claimed that three of her clients were freed in the wee hours of March 29.

AKA, actual name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, was assassinated in Durban on February 10 along with renowned chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.
According to reports from Sunday, three males and two other people were all taken into custody in Belhar, Cape Town.
The four men were transferred from Cape Town on Tuesday and arrived in Durban on Wednesday, Van den Heever informed SurgeZirc SA.
Three were freed, according to her, and one will appear in court on Thursday for carjacking in Durban, South Africa. The other guys appear to have fled after receiving threats to their lives.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) has claimed that the murder investigations into AKA and Tibz have not advanced despite these allegations.
A spokesperson for KwaZulu-Natal, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, stated on Wednesday that media accounts on the incident are false and endanger ongoing investigations.
“Such reports also have a potential of putting at risk the lives of the people purported to have been arrested as well as endangering the lives of individuals who are portrayed as police officers in photographs and videos which have been doing the rounds on certain websites and social media platforms,” he said.
South Africans were not pleased with the news of the false arrest, and they have since compared the alleged developments in the probe to the Senzo Meyiwa murder case.
When word of the suspects’ release broke, they continued to criticize law enforcement.
