A 29-year-old man died after falling to his death at the Menlyn Park Shopping Mall in Pretoria on Sunday, prompting police to launch an inquest.

General Manager Nisha Kemraj confirmed that an official police investigation is already under way.

“At approximately 9:45am on 7 August 2022, a tenant staff member fell from one of the upper levels at the Cavendish Court.

“Emergency medical services were immediately called to the scene, but the patient unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.

“An official investigation is underway, and Menlyn Park Centre Management are fully cooperating with authorities as they investigate circumstances around the incident.”

According to Colonel Dimakatso Sello, a spokesman for the police, the victim allegedly fell from level 6 and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

She claimed that the Brooklyn police station has launched an inquest docket for investigation.

The individual was in a severe condition when Emer-G-Med Paramedics responded to the site, according to Kyle van Reenan.
