Student faces jail after tricking victims into revealing bank details for covid-19 tax break!

Student, 20, faces jail after tricking vulnerable victims into revealing bank details in exchange for a ‘Covid-19 tax break’ in ‘sickening’ scam he masterminded from flat where his family live in ‘abject poverty’

Mohammed Khan (left), who lives in Camden, London (right), sent thousands of fraudulent texts (inset) and emails inviting unwitting victims to fill in their bank details in exchange for ‘a Covid-19 tax break’. The messages contained logos ‘remarkably similar to UK government websites so one would think it was from Her Majesty’s government’. Khan also passed the information along with templates for fraudulent websites to other scammers via WhatsApp.
